Ismaani Center Program
The only center offering Auditory Verbal therapy.(AVT)
Ismaani is the only center in Iraq, providing Listening and Spoken Language Intervention to children with hearing loss. The center has been in operation since 2005 and is approved by the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs. The center's operation and activities are overseen by a board of directors.
Ismaani is a not-for-profit center and provides services at no cost for families in financial need.
The Center’s hours of operation are from 8am to 3pm, 6 days a week.
Who is The Ismaani Center for?
The target population for the center is children with hearing loss and their families. Children attending the program use hearing devices such as hearing aids or cochlear implants.
How do Families Access The Services of
Ismaani Center?
Families of children with hearing impairment can:
Be referred to the center by their physician.
OR
Self-refer and request service themselves.
What Are The Center's Programs?
The center provides once a week, individualized listening and spoken language intervention for children using hearing devices.
Parents attend sessions with their child and learn strategies to continue the program at home.
